Fig.1 shows the frequency-temperature
characteristics for a thickness-shear mode
AT-cut crystals with the angle of cut as a
parameter. Since the AT-cut frequency-
temperature characteristic is equivalent to
an equation of the third degree, it displays
excellent frequency stability over a wide
temperatuer range.

characteristics of crystal near resonance
frequency. Co represents the static ( shut )
capacitance and is the sum of the capacitance
between the two electrodes and the capacitance
brought by the wire leads and holder. The
R1, Lland C1 consists of the motional arm of
crystal's equivalent circuit. C1 represents the
motional capacitance of the quartz, L1 is a
motional induction and R1 is a motional
resistance.
